Well, I've been trying to finish up on the GTO before moving the 79Z back in to my shop. I moved it outside so I could finish stripping the GTO.
Ever seen a naked goat? Here's some pics. I'm almost done. When I strip a car, I *strip* a car. Note the hole in the firewall that I had to make to get the wiring harness through. The dash harness is integrated with the engine bay body harness. It's a huge mess of wiring harness.

Ain't much left in it. It's almost ready to cut up (I'm taking out stuff like seat mounts, tranny tunnel, etc, in case I need them).
But, bad news, I was driving my 94Z to work yesterday, and as I hit the brakes coming off the freeway, my oil pressure dropped to 0. It came right back up, but every time I hit the brakes hard, oil pressure would dip. That's a symptom of losing the oil pump pickup tube (which I welded on! The next one's getting a full tilt TIG weld ). She made it home just fine, good oil pressure while driving and no clackety sounds (I think the engine is OK), but now I gotta tear in to the 94Z and replace the oil pump. Which means no work on BubbaZ... (I was ready to move the GTO outside and BubbaZ inside this weekend...). I hate dropping the oil pan on an F-body...

I hope she's OK...
I got 'er up on the lift today. Drained the oil, and sure enough, right behind the drain plug, the oil pump pickup tube was sloshing around in the pan. Oil didn't look real good either, but admittedly it's been a while since I've changed it (it was synthetic though). I'll get the pan off and go from there. I've got the pan loose, but now I need to raise the motor to get the pan out.

Got the pickup tube tig'd on, installed, oil pan is back on the car, and motor mount bolts are tight. Dropped a socket extension straight down on the bridge of my nose, wasn't too bad until I felt like I was sweating... and it was 40 degrees in my shop... yeah, blood. Ow. First face injury in quite some time.
