Default Outlaw Drag Radial Cars [Updates Here]

I like reading about heads up LSX drag cars as I help on Andy Essary's car (#385), so if you hear interesting things about any of the LSX ODR cars or similar builds, please post them here.

I'll start with some bad news. Last night Tom Kempf tagged the wall during the Milan Race Wars race. He was running in eliminations, car was loose off the line but he was able to get it down the track, but at the 1/8th the car did a 360 and he hit the wall. He wants like hell to run that series so he's resolved to fix the car as quickly as possibly and most likely the back of the car will be in primer for the balance of the season.

Some early pics from FB:

Bummer, But..... Some of the fastest shit I ever saw on the streets up here was covered in primer I kinda dig it! Hand draw on the sponsor stuff too it'll be badass. Signatures? Dunno something creative will add to its provenance.

Wishing him and his boys a speedy and most of all safe build

He was saying he'd have to re-clip the back of the car.

I see on FB that Mike Brown has fired up his car, so it won't be long now.

I heard about that unfortunate crash - along with the rain delays - poor track conditions - few D/R cars got down the track. I think the quickest run was a 7.70 or so in that class. The finals were at 2 am. the D/R cars took the light - didn't run split the money because it just wasn't worth crashing. I wonder how you score that for series points?

Hopefully Indy's first Saturday heads-up goes better. My local track Kil Kare has their first Outlaw heads-up the following Saturday along with their normal bracket racing. This will be the first event I get to go to.

Yep I talked to Tom and the Qualifier ET's were all pretty weak, high 8's and low 9's. Hinzman was doing better than the rest but he also dominates that class. I believe Koehler qual'd at a 9.0 or so.

I guess you were lucky the year you ran your event up there. Wasn't that May? Yes Dave is always strong and is current class champ. Didn't want to post about a Ford winning. I believe he is or was a 565 Chevy with a Pro-Charger. He is rather laid back and tight lipped on his F/B page. J. R Gibson another strong Ford has a new combo. Then there is Kari Ann and her Nitrous ride. They both post on Yellow Bullet

Yep it was May.

I think between the recent rain and the cold temps, a few guys like Tom couldn't resist trying to run a number. I know when I've been out with Andy and his car that temptation is always there, it's hard to let out and coast.

Ugh... From Joe at Stenod:

Quote:
Well... We lost our first race car today! It's official, the Stenod Performance "money shot" has cage damage beyond repair. This is the first car that we built at my old shop that will need a complete rebuild to be able to race it again. I'm extremely happy that the cage and safety equipment kept Tom safe, but I'm crushed that the nicest and most bad ass car will now have to get cut to pieces! Thanks to everyone who helped us create this one of a kind drag radial car... Too bad we never got to push it to its true potential
