I don't know it looks kind of weak. I think half of their shows they just recycle half the crappy shows that are on the air right now (OCC, overhaulin', Rides). We'll see.

^^^I agree. just looks like they recycled some old shows. Maybe after its on the air for a while they actually have something that I would like to watch.

I hope it turns out well.
I'm getting really sick of turning to Speed and seeing nascar every other time.
I like the look of the site with the SEMA sneak peek but I don't like the canine friendly rides idea...:|

+1... speed needs to be relabeled nascar... i can't stand nascar anymore... i like watching shows about working on cars, fast cars, and other things you cant watch on espn or cbs... hopefully when they come out with the new channel, you wont have to special order it
oh yeah, hopefully they will cover regular drag racing and not just top fuel, prostock or funny car racing

Sorry, I like the Nascar content on Speed. It replaced all the old boating shows, etc.. that were half the programing before the switch from "The Speed Channel" to just "Speed"

With Discovery Channel $$$ behind it. It might be a cool channel.

Might be interesting. I'm glad to see biker build off, I've always liked that show. RIP Indian Larry
I hope I get it without having to subscribe.

I would like to see a channel like everyone else is mentioning that involves people actually working on stuff. Just like the Spike Power Block. Anything with Stacy David would be awesome.
Maybe more car show coverage or cruising or whatever it may be that the average car guy can get into and connect with. We all may like seeing these big races and half-million dollar cars, but it would also be nice to see stuff for the everyman.

Top gear would be great. I have BBC america and I can rarely find it on other that the new shows on Mondays.
I disagree with the speed comment. Eveytime I turn to it I see a Pinks variant or now Pimp my ride??? I am a Nascar fan however.
It could be a good deal if they don't just replay all the repeats of TLC and Discovery. Original programs should be the key. (No greenie crap)
They should steal Gearz from ESPN. Give Stacy a full hour to go crazy with. And an airing time that isn't 3am.
If I remember right they used that turbo banner to introduce the block of shows (rides, overhaulin..)

I'm just tired of the old nascar reruns and auctions. Now if they show alot builds and give some good tech.... I'll watch it tho.

yes I agree get stacy david and put him on during the day. My DVR is mostly gearz shows anyways.

I want to see a show where they:
1. actually work on cars
2. build more "real" cars than $150000 dream build ups
3. Use a better mix of current technology (efi, whipple/procharger, N2O), and older technology (carbs, roots blowers, giant and i mean giant carbed engines)
4. is unbiased in product reviews and parts used in the show (instead of ramming edelbrock and jegs down my throat every 3 seconds)
And I agree that speed has gone to nascar crazy they really need to diversify their lineup and that doesn't mean more pinks shows or pimp my ride!

Top Gear would be great if they can get it on there.I wouldn't mind a lineup like Spike's PowerBlock. heopfully it sticks around to get its own programming.

i think it would be interesting to have a show where they have a road course and they have like 15 non experienced people (teenage guys & girls, middle age men & women, etc) race each other on it. give each of them an hour or less of private lessons so they dont go in and wreck (at least not try to take a corner way to fast and seriously injure themselves). it would be very cool.

This could be interesting. Maybe the crowding of existing shows to this "Turbo" channel is just to get the ball rolling. Hopefully later they will have new dedicated shows.

Discovery already has an HD channel that shows mostly car stuff anyway (wheeler dealers is really growing on me), this will probably be a repackaging of their existing setup with some changes.

That's what I was thinking Nick since I have HD cable at the house.

It can't be any worse than SPEED Channel. They won't even show the series they are a title sponsor of live and when they do cover a live event they cut out of it for one of their dozen NASCAR news/talk shows. Now they have stuffed the spaces between the NASCAR coverage with 900 versions of Pinks and other such garbage.

I don't mind NASCAR racing, it is the 35 news shows about it that I coudl live without. Honestly, how much could have possibly happened between dinner and desert that they need a whole nother show to talk about it? lol
Pinks was a good concept, and like any other idea that starts good, the greedy people have taken it too far and sucked 99% of the fun out of it. I was at E-town in the bleachers and the racing was great.

Yeah it looks like Chasing Classic Cars (with the guy who owns F40 Motorsports) will be on the channel.
I feel like I've seen this channel or atleast that exact logo somewhere on tv already though. Either way hopefully it will have a nice variety of automotive shows. Powerblock is always on too early for me, how do they expect a real car guy who was out at the track until 2-3 am the night before to be awake by 9 to see the shows. Besides anymore the builds have gotten mundane.

I've watched Chasing Classic Cars with Wayne Carini (I think that's his name), and it's interesting, he makes the classic car scene a little more interesting for me since he's trying to balance buying cars he likes with making purchases where he can make a profit.
I've seen a commercial with Jay Leno driving a Cobra, I was assuming that he was going to host Top Gear USA which is rumored to be debuting this year. Personally I don't find him very interesting when he talks about cars but I'd give the show a try. I had heard Seinfeld had been considered too, and he would be a great pick.

I heard that the UK Top Gear guys pulled the plug on Top Gear USA like a month ago. I think I heard it on autoblog. If they did I'm glad because the hosts were Adam Carola, Tanner Faust and some other non car guy.

The hosts were Carolla, Tanner Faust (apparently he is a drifting/rally/x-games type of guy), and Eric Stromer (he's a fucking carpenter on HGTV! WTF?!). Sounds like a winning combo :ripped:.

Yeah, more junk. Should have known.
I do think it is funny that Clarkson said that TopGear US was canned because we don't get it, Top Gear is the most popular show on BBC America, I think that is a good sign people get it. lol Maybe it was the fact that their automotive sponsors all pulled out before the thing got off the ground.

here are a couple of ideas:
-tim allen for the top gear host
-have a show that hits up all the drag strips around the country showing the regular low $$$ races
-get the gearz show on
-cover national events in full such as lsx shootout, the equivalent for the fords and dodges and imports
-have some freaking off roading shows that more trail riding
-and monster truck building
those are just a couple off the top of my head... i just about eat, sleep, and breathe car stuff
