I like it!
I wouldn't mind seeing some more on simple mods for the car either since I have one but don't want to mod it heavily

I can't believe that cars this impressive are already selling for $20K and under. That is an absolute steal. Good write-up PSJ.

Tony wrote it. From what I've heard, a CAI and a tune might get one into the high 12's though I'd like to see someone on our staff do it just to be credible.

I like the car, in general I think it is a great offering and if I had the money I would go pick one up on the cheap. Keep us posted!

I've seen a few around 22k, but I haven't seen any as low as 20. If you have, good eye!

I'm sure we'd see $19-20K used by the summer.

I agree...They are an awesome bargain for what you get.

I ran a nationwide search just the other day on Cars.com and found a couple on the lots for $21K. I'd assume they could be had for under $20K, with proper negotiation skills. ;) But yeah, a G8 GT or GXP would be a killer ride. I'd love to go drive one, but I'm not a fan of wasting a dealer's time.
I can't remember who, but I remember reading that someone on Tech bought a white one for 19K. That was a couple months ago.

I think when we're thinking G8, a bunch of us automatically assumed GT/GXP (LSX, vs. v6). ;)
Yes, I'm pretty sure the V6 cars can be had exactly like you're saying, and are a great deal for all you're getting for that amount of money.

True, but you're correct in that we are referring to the V8s. The V6 is nice, but eh.

I do mean GTs. $20K for a GT. Maybe I should specify that they are "used," but they are out there. :thumb:

these are really great cars.....if i had the extra cash for one, i'd get it as a daily driver in a heartbeat. i just rode in one for a 1000+ mile round trip on a 1-week vacation (my cousin has one), and it's awesome.
although it doesn't have a whole lot of body roll, it definitely has more than my Strano/Koni and Hotchkis sway bar setup in my camaro....but that's to be expected....and the ride in the G8 is definitely more comfortable, too. some Koni's for this car would make things a lot better, as would about a 1" drop in the rear and a 1/2" to 3/4" drop in the front.
but for the price, these things are hard to beat....you definitely get a LOT of car for the money.

I have about 8K on my 09 PSM GT. Mods include a Roto-Fab CAI, VMS ECM/TCM tune, Fasterproms ported TB and intake as well as a powerbond underdrive pulley. The mods really wake up this L76 engine. Loving the car as our family sedan.

I have really liked these cars since day one and will own one in the not so distant future. Just disappointed that they didn't go with a Sports Wagon edition cause I thought that would of been a sweet offering.

I think they are definitely a great car. A little more practical than the GTO, having the 4 doors. I think when I "grow up" a little and get tired of the Trans Am, I will definitely be looking at one of these cars.

My sister drove one and she really liked it.
The only problem she has with it, is that is isn't awd. Now she's leaning towards the Lexus.
You know how the broads are...
