like you my best times stock were in the high 13's. After a k& n cai and magnaflow catback and a tune we were in the 13.22 to 13.28 range .Went back with no cats and headers and ran a best 12.98 as of now i have tfs 235 heads fast 92.92 and 100 mm maf , electric fans and best et to date on motor only is 12.09 ,with a mild 150 shot have been as fast as 10.98 . These trucks have a ton of potential......

Mine is 2WD. I just removed 350 lbs of sand out of the back (Chicago winters) and broke the tires loose from a 30 mph roll lol.

My06TB sounds great. I recently did an I8SRT8 CAI and www.LS1Speed.com tune, so I will hit the dyno and the track soon. Question for you, do your efans turn on decent and consistently? I have all the parts to do it but I heard some times they turn on wierd? I'm guessing 13.3's right now.

I'm gonna run the Tibber with just the CAI and tune first and see what it does. I had a lot of gas in the truck when I ran the 13.84, so I'm going to try to keep it a 1/3 tank when I get there.

I know it will run 12's with a converter, but I want do one mod at a time and see what's the minimum it will take to run 13.doh's.

Good write-up PSJ! And congrats on the stock 13s. Mine was a 3SS and had a best stock form ET of 14.00.

In the article I beleive you stated the TBSS stopped in '08 but I beleive there were quite a few produced in '09 as well. Anyway, I look forward to seeing what your new mods will net you.

Nice piece. Sounds VERY impressive. After the first wave of mods you listed, should be pretty interesting. LS1 F-bodies guys will be caught off guard no doubt!

We have been working on some new torque converters for the TBSS. They have been taking off .5 second in ET. You can still tow with it :thumb: When you are ready, just let me know!

Nice! I bet my old TBSS would have run high 14's stock, never ran it that way. It ran 12.90's before I sold it. I picked up .5 second with a Vigilante in it.

Are the AWD TBSS out ETing the 2wd one's...and the 2wd one out mph the AWD one's...both trucks being stock of course .

Just thinking the AWD would out ET brecause of the 60' advantage and the 2wd would out mph because of the weight avantage.

Sorry if this is a old or even a newb question....im just not very familar with the TBSS's and dont really spend any time on the truck forums.

On average, the 2wd were still getting better ET's. With the power to weight of these bricks they don't get much spin if any in stock form. The extra weight savings of the 2wd help them out.

When I researched the TBSS scene, yeah it did seem like the 2WD truck ET'd and MPH'd better stock due to the weight. Maybe the AWD guys can just stomp on the go pedal but the 2WD trucks require rolling out and gradually giving it gas... At least on stock tires.

Thats an impressive time for an SUV..I believe I saw a modded SS trailblazer run high twelves, could be wrong though its been a while. It shocked me to see it run!

I took mine right after I bought it and ran 15.1s over and over. I was pissed to say the least. Then I started reading and found out they have a horrible issue with heat soak. I never let the thing cool down good. We did some data logs and saw that the IATs were maxing out on the scale which was like 50* above ambient. The bad part is that was while cruising.

I finally ordered some stuff for it last night. E-fan setup (using my camaro fans), IAT relocation, and a thermostat. I called Vararam today to see if the finally had there kit finished for these trucks but no luck. He said the are trying to knock out the G8 setup now and will try to finish the TBSS setup in April. I may put a shot on it but that is about it. I have already gone way to far with the camaro and don't want to ruin this one.

Also a local guy named Mark was the first one to run a 13 in a bone stock AWD in his 06 back when they first came out.

Sluggish, I went 14.7 all heat soaked, two passes like that. Open the hood, take the engine cover off, and let it cool off for a good 30 minutes. I did that and dropped the spare and went from 14.7 to 14.2, to 14.1 to 13.84.

Now I have a CAI and tune, so I want to see just what those two things will do. I have e-fans lying around but I'm doing one mod at a time with the Tibber.

I'd like to lower it too, I wonder if that's a lot of work on these.

GM's last muscle truck offering, the Silverado SS, typically runs high 15's from the factory.

My bone stock Silverado SS ran 15.0X all day long and thats really in line with most Silverado SSs ive seen.

I forgot to update this thread, but I did go 13.73@101 with a CAI last year. Truck has mostly 60'd around a 2.15 for some reason.

I did make a pass yesterday while I was GLD helping a friend with his 7 second car, I went a 13.89@98.93 a bit heat soaked.

I am getting an underdrive pulley and will venture out and see if I can run 13.5's.

I picked up an underdrive pulley, so plan to swap that on and see what the Tibber does. I wonder if I need to tune the pcm....

Those are some pretty nice times.

After driving an SUV around for the past month, I've grown to respect those guys in SRT8 Jeeps and SS's speeding around on the highway a bit more.

The things feel like they're about to flip over once you hit 70mph.

Update... The Tibber has left the family. It's really not in my DNA to race a truck, even one that went high 13's stock. So eventually she got cleaned up, de-vinyled and traded in... Farewell Tibber, you were damn impressive, running 13.84@99 with just the spare out, and you showed a BMW 7 Series what it's like to cruise at 120 mph a few years ago coming back from Bowling Green...
