The new 2012 Corvette Centennial Edition (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_Lnjc9Kngw) comes with some fancy "kitten belly" suede interior parts. (phrase coined by Andrew here). Which is good news for us C6 owners, because OEM parts are much cheaper (and arguably better) than the aftermarket parts using the same materials. I purchased both of these parts (steering wheel, console cover) for less than $500. An aftermarket suede covered wheel alone is usually over a grand.

The new wheel feels a little thicker, and has the palm humps at 10 and 2. The area around the buttons also looks much nicer than the original wheel. Installation was about 20 minutes for both.

Very nice. I LOVE my kitten belly wheel and shifter.

The plastic pieces on the sides of the console cover you replaced; can they be pulled easily? I've been tinkering with the idea of buying some ultra suede and covering some parts in the Dodge and CTS-V that might look better. (I'm not sure on the V until I get the material in hand) I'm looking at ordering a coupe yards in the same color there. I can bring some to you when I get the trailer in a couple weeks if you want to try and cover those also to match the new console cover.

The black plastic section below the console lid? That is the rear section of the console, it goes up to the area behind the console lid too. Easy to pull.

Looks good.

what are the buttons on the left side of the wheel? My C6 has radio controls on the right; nothing on the left.

LOL @ kitten belly. I'd forgotten all about that. I had to search the site to recall where I'd said it... apparently right after I drove Kris' V.

So when do the suede inserts in the seats get installed? :) Steering wheel looks good, as does the console.

Kitten Belly...perfect name. Maybe we can get GM to start calling it that. LOL.

Tony. That is the part I'm talking about. I was thinking about bring a swatch of the suede with me and we can see if it'll look good on there.

Just when I thought you couldnt possibly make this car look any better. Great upgrade! Looks like it should have been there all along...

Matching suede seat accents would really top it off.
