What are everyone's thoughts on having a U.S. based F1 team? I for one, am excited...especialy since it's in my backyard.

I am pretty excited, although I can only expect for them to struggle in their first season. Some of those teams have been doing it for decades. It will be nice to have a home team to root for. I havent had anyone to really root for since Scot Speed left F1.

I would like to see it happen, but it will be tough for them considering that none of the official tracks will be in their back yard, so they will have to pay a ton of money on travel. I suppose they could use some US tracks for development testing, but there's something to be said about testing on the actual tracks that will be raced on.

I don't think travel funds will be too much of an issue. With the way all the circuits are, all the teams will be travelling roughly the same. From here to Canada, won't be much different than going from Spain to Italy (for a European team).

I halfway agree with testing on actual tracks. BUT, some of the other teams have their own company owned tracks they test on.

No matter what, I'm excited and am hoping for the best.

I'm hopeful, I'd like to see a competitive F1 team from the USA. I also sent them an email reguarding an engineering job but havent heard anything back yet.:usa:
