Nice article. Sean sure did have a hard time powder-coating my centers since they are a 2-piece forged welded.

Cool info.
Yeah the Billet Specialties wheels are two-piece forged/ welded, you got to see that on your tour. :)

That was a fun little tour. As you mentioned, would be cool to set something up like that in the summer.
Still pondering why my wheels ended up needing a decent amount of wheel weights as BS does have a pretty nice set-up to check for tolerances. Leads me to believe the sandblasting process prior to powder-coating attributed to it? Really no way to tell unless I had them tested before and after for balancing.

Thanks - good information. In the spring I'll buy new wheels. Three of what I have on Jakes wagon hold air - none are round - so I guess it's time.

Most of the time, it is the tires that cause imbalance issues.

One of the B/S guys told us that many times it can be the tires, but it's also a problem with folks damaging the wheels when mounting and balancing. Do you remember what he said Kevin, I just got up. :)

Nine Ball - I understand tires will require some weights. But this is an excessive amount in my opinion. ~16-20 per wheel behind the face and ~2-3 on the very inside of the hoop. Have you seen anything like that with your tires?
Pro Stock John - I understand that weights will almost always be needed. See comment above. The wheels were not scratched, yet alone damaged when being mounted. I was there during the mounting with someone who has mounted tires for over 10 years and is a close friend of mine.
