Nice!

I'm glad that served you as motivation, son. BTW I was not the only one that made fun of your interior...please kindly include the rest of members here in your statement.....It makes you look like you are getting personal and Im sure you don't want to be looked at like that here...maybe that was the reason why you got permabanned at TECH, poor judgment? Remember how the previous interior thread got locked...because of YOU.

Take my advice...is free.

It really reminds me of cyber gray, which makes me wonder if GM got their inspiration for that color from Audi/Lambo

I locked it because it was turning into a pissing contest, which it seems you like to turn everything into. Just let it go, don't take things so personal, everything I do is in good humor and no malice intended, it's the internet...this thread is about the pictures of my car, not your personal opinion about me.

I was on the fence as well, but those wheels really set it off.

On the other hand, the only thing that could set the interior off would be a match. ;)

Nonsense replies removed :)

That car looks killer for sure in that color, and the CCW wheels match nicely. I'd say the car is unique enough to be a magazine car on the exterior. Seriously, the interior is absolutely horrible and that would definitely kick your car off of a potential magazine shoot. I'm not hating, just being honest. Plaid may fit in a German car, but it just looks out of place in an American musclecar like the Trans Am. Keep the interior on the same theme as the paint, go with grays, black and maybe silver inside.

Well I may have to change it out anyway, the fabric and glue do not like this Florida humidity and have started coming apart already. I used 3M super 90 and a vacuum seal too. I've got yards upon yards of real carbon fiber i could mess around with. Wouldn't that be a cool headliner? I'm sure surfboard resin would hold up a lot better as well.

And thank you guys for the compliments :)

Carbon fiber isn't as cool as it once was, IMHO. I would follow Tony's clue on building a two or possibly three tone interior, following the black/grey theme. Dark grey seats with a lighter grey textured insert, for example, would look very clean and modern - which fits the look of the exterior.

I've seen a couple Camaros in grey, but honestly didn't care for them. The color looks great on the Trans Am for sure though. Nice work!

Now fix that interior. Seriously.

The exterior of your car is rocking man. Looks really good.

And at the end of the day man its your car, so if that is what you like then by all means do it.

But I think its fairly unanimous that your interior isn't going to get any favorable reviews.

I didn't quite say it sucks ass, I just don't believe it belongs on the car. Of course, this is just my opinion which doesn't count for much since it's not my car.

I've been ribbing dirtybird simply because he's been a good sport about it. He prefaced his first picture of the plaid with "I know it won't go over with this crowd" which meant he's ready for some heat.

I think he understands you hate it.

I also don't know what "La Perla" is. I googled it, and it appears to be lingerie (and Mexican restaurants).

Thanks btw and i know you guys are ribbing me. i know i'll get heat for it lol, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I like messing around too, like I said it's all in good humor.

And La Perla is kind of like the Compton of Puerto Rico. They if you happen to find yourself driving through it to not even stop. The PR gov't does't really recognize it and is trying to push the people that live there out so someone like Donald Trump can buy the ocean front property, it's said to be one of the most crime ridden areas in all of the US (that includes it's territories). I actually had a really good tour guide on my visit to PR.

Is that an LED string behind the bumper?

dirtybird222
06-11-2010, 05:56 PM
yess it is. I took the stock housing apart, traced an outline of the housing out, then cut a lens out of acrylic. After I had all the appropriate pieces I set the LED strand in place (I could have done something a little cooler) I set the new lens in place with some black silicone, then did a light coat of nightshades. Wiring was simple as could be. Cut the stock socket off, connect positive to positive, negative to negative, and leave the third wire out to dry since LEDs aren't dual filament/element

yess i do, i'll try to clean the car up and get some pics up with the filter. Those three pics were taken by a friend of mine with his D90. There's a cool powerplant up the road thats perfect for shooting cars. I may start to tear the engine apart, got some nasty white smoke coming out of the exhaust that kind of smells like oil. Not sure if it's residue or a ring. If it's a ring, I've got some decisions to make on an engine build.

night shot of said plant, daytime looks cool too.

Despite all the controversy this car has drummed up - I love the paint job. I've always wanted to see a darker gray on a T/A, I saw someone do Viper gray on one and it was superb as well. The wheels are definitely perfect for the car.
