For those of you that didn't hear, the severe winds and storms blew down the tents over the weekend in Arizona, where the Russo & Steele collector car auction was being held. Here are some of the damage photos, starting with the gold mustang and down (image 3365).

Damn. Those were some very high winds. I'm suprised the event didn't have a plan for dealing with a condition like that. I'm pretty sure the event had some kind of insurance to deal with a situation like that.

I know it's not nearly as bad, but about 2 years ago the had the Pontiac Oakland Club International annual convention outside in Tulsa, OK I believe. Anyways, that same day someone decided it would be a great time to repaint the outside of a building a little ways down the street. It ended with about half of the cars at the car show getting horrible overspray all over the place (under the hood, inside on the interior, and all over the outside), and this is some of the top Pontiacs in the world. I believe the painting companies insurance had to pay for the repair of all the affected cars.

I can't imagine how those owners feel.

I was looking at the link I posted, so many cars with damage. Looked like some cars would get totaled given the roof damage. I'd be pretty upset to have a new Ford GT that now had all that body damage. :(

Hopefully all of the cars were still insured, whether by the sellers or the event. I feel bad for those survivor cars that could be there, with original paint and such. Those would be the worst to see damaged, to me. You can't get back original paint and body, ever.

Agreed. The new cars can be replaced.

i used to work for a tent company in high school, it was funny how people would have a false sense of security when it stormed bad, they would all run to the tents and think they were safe.

Ahh man, I cringed at the site of the pantera. I've always had a soft spot for those cars. Man that has to be the worst situation to be in right there. I bet there were some irate people at that place.

That's the big heartbreaker. If it's been restored, then it's not as bad (still horrible), but a car that has been through decades totally unmolested and cared for meticulously... it's a shame.

Horrible. I hate it for the owners and that some real cool iron might not be able to be fixed.
