Well, winter is officially here in Indiana, and I think all of us in the region know it isn't going to be a mild one. Unfortunately for me, I have to drive my '99 Z28 through the snow, since my '94 Blazer is suffering from all kinds of issues (intake gasket, steering slack joint, possible head gasket, bad 4WD actuator). My '94 has been resting peacefully in carport #1, which is about 100 ft. from my apartment door. I also rented out a second carport, carport #2, which is located roughly 300 ft. from the apartment door. This carport is currently sitting empty - more on that later.

Anyway, after getting hit for a nice couple inches last night, I decided to take the truck to work today, as I just didn't feel like digging the car out. The truck ran fine, considering the laundry list of problems, but it constantly reminded me that it was not 100% (or even 75% for that matter). As I'm driving home it dawns on me that I really need to dig out the '99 and prep it for the commute the rest of the week. So I decided that I should do a "great vehicle shuffle," and drive the '94 Z down the carport #2 and put the cover on it, and start parking the '99 in carport #1, so it would at least be shielded from the elements a bit. Well, the '94 Z doesn't want to start now. Shocking... Supposedly, the battery is less than a year old, but I still suspect that it is just junk. I'm also questioning the ignition system/plugs - when I could turn it over, it just wasn't firing, which isn't normal for this car. So yeah, now I have 2 '94 vehicles that just won't cooperate with me.

I plan to pull the battery in the '94 Z and take it to AutoZone for their free test, and go from there. I'm hoping all it needs is a new battery, and I can move it after a replacement is bolted down. No real question in all of this, just venting in general. I really need a house with a garage, so I don't have to deal with this shit anymore. It is really hard to work on your vehicles here when 1) it is so cold out and 2) the apartment managers don't allow it. :( Here's hoping I can get through one more winter...

Yeah, that sucks man. I feel your pain. I am lucky enough to have my '99 SS in the garage year round and my daily driver outside, even though I would LOVE to garage that as well. I am with you about this weather. I CANNOT STAND the snow/cold at all!!! :boiling:
As soon as I retire, goodbye MA and hello either San Diego or Florida. :woot:
Good luck with everything.
