I tried to reply to a couple threads and I get an error message saying I can't reply to the thread with the typical verbage I would see on a locked or deleted thread.

At the bottom of the screen it says I have permissions, but it won't let me reply.

Well, let me just say that I was on tech from the first days. I think I signed up in the first month, so I'm sad to see it go, but the fact is, it's been a slow death over there.

I hate to say it, but once it was sold, it became a commercial site and you then started seeing adds for Toyota's, Honda's, and other crap that just didn't belong.

Was this in the Letters To Editors forum? If so, only the original poster and editors can reply in threads there. Keeps things opinion/bandwagon free for people to get their message to us.

If you can't post in other forums, let us know. We'll take a look.

I had the same problem and I was in the Letters Forum.
I did the Newby mod and didnt read the sticky.
