Quoted from SVTPerformance:

Hey guys! Im the one who owns the 12.9 2010 Gt. Just figured I get in the the mix a little bit with the all of the different opinions about it.

It is all stock except for the x-pipe and Uca. I did pull weight out of it though. Stock it came in at 3520 with 3/4 tank of gas. I removed the weights off of the rear, x-pipe, Uca and 1/4 tank was 3460. Just the other night I removed the spare, jack and front sway bar and now its 3380 with a 1/4 tank.

The 12.96 was with a 1.92 60 ft with the stock tire squaking at me pretty good. The DA was +2500 and I powershifted every gear at about 5900 on the stock tach.

Heres a crappy video of it

Btw it went stock 13.3 @105 with 200 hundred miles on it, but wheelhopped something terrible.

Wow, this is pretty good as it deals with the conversation Will and I had today. Haha!

Does it have the 3.73 gear package??

I think that's freaking awesome for a car that doesn't even have to clear 30k MSRP, and that's even including 3.73 gears!

I'm very impressed with the 2010 Mustangs, and this is coming from a guy who doesn't really like the 2005-2009. The body changes and increased refinement really make me want one, and I would consider it over a Camaro due to the 4-5K price difference when they are built how I would like them.

Yes it does but this is still using the tired 3v setup. Hopefully the Coyote is even better. I mean take it for what it is, it's a stock car with exhaust, and weight removed. It's good but stock he does say best he got was 13.3.

It's about like stock Mach 1 territory.

I'm sure the COyote will be something special. It really does look promising.

A couple of quick things come to mind...

The car runs 13.3 in stock trim which is .... whatever I guess. Its ok. Its cool that it runs 12's but cmon... 4-5K price difference?? Any comparable Mustang to the SS features is 32-33K MSRP.

It shows that they can go 12's easy but then again this sites own stock Camaro ran within a smudge of the same. Still emissions legal might I add :p

Whats MSRP plus offroad x-pipe and UCA's?

Weather and in this case, weight.

Seems about right for the weaksauce engine they keep using. I'd expect my Camaro to do far better with an offroad exhaust and hundreds of pounds stripped out. I do like the new 2010 Shelby though, the GT gets a ~meh~ from me after owning the 2006 GT that kinda sucked.

'10 Shelby is a great looking car. I think the GT will have more appeal with the new motor.

Looks like the inside of a hookers rectum, but I'm glad they are finally breaking 12s close to stock.

yea but that car is close to the camaro times but after intake and exhaust are modified its over , what many people dont understand is that the mustang i running at its max potential, the camaro is always been bottlenecked because of the corvette.put headers and exhaust in both cars and its over, the camaro will be atleast 1 second faster, who keeps these cars stock anyway.....on the same token i was really disappointed with the skidpad results when they compared these cars camaro did like a .86 with irs and the mustang beat it thats just sad

While the 2011 5.0 will be running even better, from my understanding, it's quite maxxed out.

It will never matter how much of a power deficit the Mustang has compared to any competitor. It will always outsell. Camaros current perch as sales leader will be gone once the hype wears off. :disgust:

How do you figure? It's the same exact motor. Even the 98-02 cars had the exact same motor. They were rated different from the factory but put them on the dyno and they all had similar power outputs with F-bodys having the upper hand on the dyno often. The reason the Vette is faster is because it is hundreds of pounds lighter.

The 4.6 is pretty maxed out how it stands now unless they add another valve (isn't it amazing that ford finally realized if you let more air in, you get more power?). I have fallen in love with my 06 GT, but i think that's because it got a S/C on it. On my way home from Sarasota yesterday I was right next to a brand new 10 GT, and 10 SS...the assend on the new GTs are hideous and I concluded that I HATE the chrome trim around the tail lights on the new Camaros. You look around the whole car, no chrome trim anywhere, then bam around the tail lights  If the weather wasn't bad I'm sure a threeway race would have ensued, but damn mid-afternoon florida monsoons had to rain on my party!

I'm going to assume that that was an accidental quote.

I agree with someone else earlier that stated who keeps these damn cars stock anyways??? Grandma??? That GT had 300 pounds removed and upper control arms and a x-pipe. He had the advantage even with 100 less HP in this case. Give the camaro a cat-back and 300 lbs of weight reduction and I bet its a different story. The planetlsx camaro would smoke that 10' GT in question. After modding these cars with the same mods the camaro is going to be the winner in straight line every time. The LS engine is a better platform to build on than the 3v unless your gonna S/C and even then your pretty much at max potential. Put a maggie on the new SS and its gonna spank a S/C 3v 10' GT end of story.
