Most folks that have been around the car game for a while have owned a car they wish they never got rid of. Well, I bought this 1967 Malibu Sport Coupe in 1994 for $4000. It was mostly as it looks in the photos, but much of the appearance and some of the performance stuff was done by me. I added the chevy rallies, ceramic headers, floor mount shifter (was original Powerglide on column), and some other stuff.
Anyhow, I sold the car because I was moving to Japan. Let it go at a local auction in Rapid City, SD for $6,100 in 1996. Wish I would have kept it. Would be lots of fun with an LSx under the hood!

I really can't imagine wanting any of my old cars back. I typically sold them for a good reason, and I tend to upgrade. I guess if I had to pick one it would be the convertible '02 SS, since I miss having a nice cruising convertible. Heads/cam, 420 rwhp, detailed engine bay. Fun car.

I used to drive the hell out of that car. Even did the long haul on Power Tour in it. Sold it to by a C6 Corvette...which I rarely drove.

I've sold 5 cars. Yes, that's all I've ever had.
1. My '91 Geo Storm. Don't miss it.
2. My '82 Subaru DL 4-door. Only miss it for the entertainment value.
3. My wife's old '88 MX6. Good little beater.
4. My '98Z. I miss the cam-only version of it. Don't miss the "race car".
5. My Fiero. I plead temporary insanity.
I don't want any of them back.
That '67 bu looks like it was a very nice car, Todd. :)

For me it would be either my Blue Green Chameleon 98 Formula (which I stupidly traded for a 97 Grand Prix GTP and immediately regretted!!) or my Paxton supercharged Candy Apple Red 87 Mustang GT.

I really haven't owned that many different vehicles. The only one I wish I had back was my old '91 Plymouth Laser RS. Some chick in her mom's Chrysler Concorde turned directly into my path, and I couldn't stop in time. The damage done was pretty minor, but ended up being about $1500 worth. Me being poor (even more so than now) figured I'd just take the cash, so I totalled it out. I've missed that car ever since. It wasn't fast, nothing really special about it, but I absolutely loved the feel of it. It got me 25+ mpg too, which isn't bad for the old technology in a '91 car.
If I find one similar, I'll definitely buy it for a commuter car.

I've had a lot of cars, I went through a bunch of muscle cars in the 90's.
I'd say I wish I had kept my '69 Z/28 and that would be it.
I wish I had bought a '69 SS Chevelle vert I had come across in 1993 and referred to a friend, he paid $3400 for it. I wish I had bought that Yenko Deuce Nova I saw in the paper and called on in 1995.

I wish I had kept my first car. It was a '69 Mustang Fastback with a 351 Cleveland. I paid $500 for it when I was 14 and tried to restore it. I never got the money that it needed and I ended up giving it to a friend of mine for free with all the extra parts included. He wanted a project, it has been sitting in his storage building since '97. He hasn't done anything with it. I just saw one with no engine in similar shape go for $6,500 with no engine yesterday.
I would love to have that car back, just don't have room or time for it.

I can't say I have any regrets, I keep what I want, but if I get good coin for something, I have no strings attached.
My last 2 modded cars sold; brought a little more than they were worth.

I painfully miss my old 1974 FJ40 Landcruiser -
I built it myself and it was equipped with a torquey 350ci SBC that was modd'd up. Rancho suspension and lift, 35" tires. This little Land Cruiser could off road like no other, could race in the first three gears on dry cement with Vette's, pop wheelies on dry cement in low range. It was a beast...

JOE P (joepmbc.com) himself built the car and it was and awsome little car. Gutted interior, 95 2nd gen 5 spoke rims. big 16g, dumped 02', ACT 2600 clutch, and a bunh of JOEP's little tricks.
AWD 6500RMP two-step sideways launches where the tits...

Oops, forgot one. My college car, a 1964 GTO. Had a 327 cid engine when I bought it, and I have lost track of the car though it was repainted two owners later so I am sure that it's still around.

I would say my '79 Z28. Haven't really had that nice of a collection of cars as some of you, but that one could have been quite a ride. Was sad to see it load up on the buyer's trailer.

I had a blast in my 74 Nova too.. Mine was a tank.
Miss my hard top '98 Formula Firehawk clone with a Vortech and bolt-ons. That car made nearly 500 rwhp ran 11.50 @ 123 on road race tires braked and handled like a beast and still got 25 mpg on the highway.

'74 Nova was my first hot rod. I still can't pass a Nova without having fond memories.
Now, let's talk about the one I mistakenly let my wife drive and she put into a tree - '98 Light Carmine Red Corvette Convertible with a tan top. Damn that car was beautiful!! I bought it new in '99 and it was almost embarrasing pulling up to a valet in that car. Everyone would just stop and stare!
I went in the complete opposite direction when I bought my next one (below). I wanted a dirty street car look so I wouldn't be scared to mod or beat on it.

These kinds of stories are why I am reluctant to get rid of my Camaro.
I have an unusual attachment to it, I'll admit. And so far *knock on wood* has never had a single problem since I've had it with the exception of one dead battery.
There's a few cars out there I like....but I don't want to get into a potentially crappy car knowing well and good that my car is fine running machine...and looks good to boot!

Only owned two cars and still have both, my 95 Ford Taurus(what a classic:rolleyes:) and my Z. I have really gotten attached to this car and have no plans of ever getting rid of it just adding more to the collection. The next will be a used GTO, G8, or 5th gen depending on how good a job I get after college and what the market is on each.

You better junk that pile when the tranny gives up the ghost. Those FWD tranny fixes aren't cheap and are not worth it. Too bad you don't have the old SHo Taurus. Atleast that would give you a very little thrill before seeing the junk yard. Very little thrill..
I had a 95 Taurus that I gave to my mom years ago. I still feel bad to this day for doing that.:secret:

Haha ya it will not get any major repairs its probably worth like 500 bucks at the most. If it finally quits Ill just buy a new winter beater, hopefully a truck but anything will work.

I should have never sold my third gen. 85 Z, I was the third owner, mint body, 383 stroker under the hood that needed a rebuild. I was just a kid and couldn't afford to so I had to get rid of it. Oh well, now I can find a better one I guess.
