I just opened the mail today and to my suprise I got a picture ticket for $435.00 for failure to stop at a red light. The picture is not clear of me, kinda looks like me but not really. There is sun glare and I am wearing sun glasses. Hard to tell.. I just didn't quite make it thru the intersection by like two feet.. This happened in Beverly Hills, tickets are bank in that foo foo bull shit city. The picture shows my registered car and plates.
I am going to try and get out of this some how some way as money does not grow on trees for me right now.. It's just bull shit, I didn't cause any public danger. It's crazy bull shit.
I was having such a great day until I got this. What a buzz kill.:bash:
I found this site for information to fight picture tickets.. Any thoughts on this?

That sucks man. I'd move back to the United States!
Anywho, the laws are the laws. I run reds every now and then too, but if I get caught, tough luck. I don't think you'll be getting out of it...There's not even an officer to not show up to court!
Cameras are some bullshit though. It's unbelievable that flies in this country...

HOLY CRAP!!! Did you purposely run it? Or was it an accident?

Yeah, I will do my best to beat this wrap. I am going to contest this bullshit, the picture isn't clear and I'm either going to say it wasn't me or send in a bill of sale to the DMV with a release of liability to a ficticious name and say I sold the car. Then later say the car was returned for mechanical problems months later. Not sure if that will fly need to look into it further.
I am still trying to think this one thru.. I've gotten out of alot of tickets in my life time.. I am not going to jail over this, but I don't think I will go down without a fight.

Yeah, I remember I tried to beat the yellow, and I thought I did. Like I said I came up short by like two frigg'n feet. The worst thing about it is I was going to see a chick and I didn't even get laid that night. That just added insult to injury:bash:

I thought if you were already in the intersection and the light turned red, you were okay. That's what I've been told by a police buddy. If that's not true out there, you could try to claim it wasn't you driving.

Well the front end was two feet from clearing the intersection. Back end of my car was in violation, but come on, ticky tack.. It's not like I could have ever hit a pedestrian or anything. It's how the city generates income.. $435 is just overkill..

Damn that is an insane amount of money. I got one last year for running a red light but in the picture it showed my tail lights across the intersection. It was 100 bucks and sucked but was a pretty cool picture though. Its gonna be tough to be it Jibb

I remember driving through LA and San Diego, it was some crazy shit to see lights flashing at a stoplight, or even a stop/go light on entrance of freeways OR even 10 lane highways completely jammed.
CA in general scares me.

Well try getting a friggin ticket for NO MUD FLAPS on your PICKUP TRUCK. Yep, driving through Texass on my way to Calif, a trooper, jumped the median, chased me down and gave me a ticket for not havin mud flaps on my damn pickup truck, even though I am a resident of La. I tried calling, writing letters, emailing people there and none of the a$$holes would even talk to me. I just mailed the fine yesterday. $150.00.
Bad thing is, I have to go BACK through there on the 20th.

Jibby, they don't care if you are driving or not. Most photo-tickets get around that by saying all they need is to identify your vehicle. They claim that if you allow someone to drive your vehicle, you also are responsible for unlawful acts or damage that they cause when operating your vehicle. Total BS, I know. Here in Houston, most cameras snap a photo of the rear of a vehicle, so you never see a passenger or driver in those pics.
Tim, I've never heard of the mudflap law. That cracks me up! But, 1-ton trucks do have their own unique laws, like having that cyclops light in the middle of the tailgate, the roof clearance lights, etc..

Most places around here dont have the stoplight cameras.. I have been stuck in traffic and had to wait on idiots to move while being in a red light intersection and had the camera go off before...no tickets so far...

Its illegal for them to cut the median unless its an emergency. They can only do it if its a paved crossover in the middle of the hwy. I got out of a ticket this way. I guess it also helped that I had a friend that's a cop ridding shotgun as a witness.

Mud flaps on a pick up truck are you kidding me?
You know I was driving back home years ago thru Utah speeding. I got pulled over by a state trooper going 100mph and he wrote me up for.. The ticket said I had a to appear in court in Utah on a certain date. I got back home and figured fuck it, I just won't drive in Utah anymore. I probably have a warrant for my arrest today in Utah. It's a joke, what do they expect you to do? Fly or drive all the way back for 14 hours to the state of Utah to appear in court? Bull shit again...

Yeah it is a crock of shit. That and when I first called the judges office, they too were in amazement that I got a ticket for it. She told me to write a letter stating what happened and it WOULD be dismissed. I wrote the letter and then called 2 days before the court date to make sure all was well. Lady told me yeah I think we got the letter, it's ok. WELL,,,,,,,,,, about 2 mths ago(This happened Aug '08), the girl that lives at my house said I got a letter from a judges office in TX. She opened it and those phuckers sent me a court appearance date. That's when I started calling and writing people over there. The first time I called, I could hear the judge in the background telling the girl, "Tell him I'm not talking to him about it. He plead guilty". Well I NEVER plead guilty. Several more calls, emails later, and I was screwed. PHUCK Hudspeth County, TX

It's just money in the bank for lil podunk towns like that. ANY cop that jumps the median and chases someone down for friggin mudflaps has NOTHING better to do.
I know what clued him in to turn around and come get me, no front plate, which is a sign that I was an out of towner. Regardless, we was gonna ticket me for SOMETHING.

its true in mass, if your in the middle of an intersection say waiting to turn left and the light turns red your already committed so you can go. isnt this how it is everywhere? cause the only alternative would be to sit there and block the intersection to through traffic..
good luck beating this or at least beating it down, $435 for a red light ticket is INSANE!

Good ole Commiefornia strikes again. Glad we dont have cameras around here. I always run through yellow lights and they sometimes turn red before i get through the intersection. Big deal it was no danger to anyone around me, and i'm definitely not going to be slamming on my brakes and risk getting hit just to stop. You just got F'd man, I guess you just need to get a tag flipper thing.

Yeah, I agree. I just figured I will never be in Utah again. There's nothing but Mormons over their anyways. No biggie for me. If I go skiing in Utah I just won't drive. I will also make it a point to be on my best behavior.

Turning is different. If that wasn't the case, nobody would get to turn left at certain intersections here.
We were talking about running straight through it above though.

Honestly........ in the laws eyes they will say you ran the red and should have slowed to stop at the yellow..... this stuff happens all the time and from what I hear they just say that you should have slowed with the yellow and if it was like two feet then chances are you saw it was yellow for a while.
I try my best to not run yellows for this very reason.

Nothing worse the a suprise bill in the mail.. It's like what the hell, I owe this shit? On the hand there's nothing better then getting an unexpected check in the mail either. It's wow!!! Where the hell did this come from..
I guess over time they balance themselves out. I did get a total suprise escrow check refund like two months ago for $650. It was from a refinance deal I did like three years ago. I really shouldn't complain too much..

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of* no reason
Why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.

To blow up the King and Parli'ment.

To prove old England's overthrow;
By God's providence he was catch'd (or by God's mercy*)
